Ladder

Any Minimum, $500 recommended for bankroll.

  1. Bet $30 on Don't Pass Line.
  2. When Point is established, bet $30 on Don't Come. Replenish this bet if 11 rolls and keep betting on the DC until 4 DC points are established.
  3. Once Don't Come bet moves to a number, immediately Place the number for $30. If the number hits, take down the Place bet and continue betting on DC.

Level Up by Press

Can work with as low as a $100 bankroll, but ideally start off with $300. Progressive betting system using Place Bet winnings to boost a Don't Pass hedge.

  1. Start off with a $25 Don't Pass bet on the Come Out.
  2. When Point is established, place the 6 and 8 for $12 each.
  3. Collect every hit on the 6 and 8 until a 7 out. If Point hits, restart the system from step 1.
  4. On a 7 Out, use the winnings to press the Don't Pass bet up to $35. When point is established, place the 5 for $10 and the 6 and 8 for $12 each.
  5. Collect winnings from place number hits until a 7 out.
  6. Keep pressing up the Don't Pass with each 7 out using the place bet winnings. After $35, make a $45 Don't Pass bet and add the place 9 to go $44 Inside. Continue to collect winnings from place bet hits and Progress up to $65 on the Don't Pass to cover all the place bet numbers.
  7. Stay with this level or press further, balancing the Don't Pass bet to cover any pressed place bets. Return to step 1 if the Point hits.
  8. Progression Reference:
    • $25 Don't Pass - $12 Place 6 and $12 Place 8.
    • $35 Don't Pass - $10 Place 5 and $12 6 and 8.
    • $45 Don't Pass - $44 Inside.
    • $55 Don't Pass - $44 Inside with $10 Place 4 or 10.
    • $65 Don't Pass - $64 Across.

Marco's Regress Press Mess!

$66 initial outlay, so bankroll should be $660. $5 minimum, but works at all table minimums; adjust bets as necessary.

  1. Wait for Point to be established.
  2. Bet $66 inside: $15 each on the 5 and 9, $18 each on the 6 and 8.
  3. After hitting twice on the inside numbers, regress all bets down to 1 unit. Make a 1 unit Field bet.
  4. If Field bet hits, immediately move winnings and initial Field bet up to cover the 4 and 10.
  5. If 5, 6, or 8 hit, press the bet and replenish the Field bet.
  6. If 4 or 10 hit, immediately do a full press on the bet and collect the change. Buy the 4 and 10 when their bets reach $25 each.
  7. When all place numbers are covered, start Collect and Press strategy, collecting the first hit and pressing the next time that number comes out.
  8. Keep Place bets working on the Come Out roll if the Point is hit. Wait until a Point is established to start strategy if the shooter 7s out.
Vince armenti craps strategy

Aggressive Low-Roller

$120 bankroll on $5 table.

  1. Wait for Point to be established.
  2. Bet $6 each on the 6 and 8.
  3. Collect the first hit on the 6 or 8.
  4. On second hit, drop the dealer $5 and increase the bet to $12 each on the 6 and 8.
  5. Collect the next hit, then on the 4th hit, use the winnings to place the 5 and 9 for 1 unit each.
  6. Continue collect and press strategy, using the winnings to bump the sister numbers up 1 unit on every other hit. If the 5 hits, use the winnings to press both the 5 and 9 up one unit, etc.

Basic Strategy

$5 minimum table; $500 minimum bankroll recommended.

  1. Bet 1 unit on the Pass Line. When Point is established, back it up with 2x Odds.
  2. When Point is established, bet 2 units each on the inside numbers. If any of the inside numbers is the Point, don't Place that number as it is covered by the Pass Line.
  3. Bet $2 each on the Hard 6 and Hard 8. If Hard Ways hit, press each bet up $1 and collect the rest of the winnings. If Easy Way is rolled, replenish the Hard Ways bets. Up to you on whether or not to match the current pressed bet or regress back down to $2 each.
  4. On first hit of any of the inside numbers, immediately press the 6 and 8 up 1 unit each. Collect winnings on the next hit. Alternate pressing and collecting as hand plays on.
  5. If 6 or 8 is the Point, press the Pass Line Odds up one unit when pressing the bets after a hit.

3-2-1 Low Roller

$5 Minimum table

  1. Minimum pass line bet.
  2. When point is established:
    • 4 and 10: 1x Pass Line Odds
    • 5 and 9: 2x Pass Line Odds
    • 6 and 8: 3x Pass Line Odds
  3. Bet minimum bets on inside numbers. Skip any number if it is the Point and covered by Pass Line bet.
  4. If Point is 4 or 10, turn all Place Bets off after two hits, otherwise turn Place Bets off after 3 hits if Point is any other number.
  5. After Place Bets are off, let shooter roll until hitting the Point or a 7 Out., then start strategy over.

Alternate Method

Much more volatile, but can lead to large wins on a hot roll.

  1. Make a $10 Pass Line bet.
  2. Use same Odds numbers from above. 3x Odds on 6 and 8, 2x Odds on 5 and 9, 1x Odds on 4 and 10.
  3. After Point is established, keep making $10 Come bets. Place Odds when Come bet moves to a number.
  4. Continue using Come Bets until 4 numbers are established or just stop when you feel like it.

The 4/10 $76

$500 bankroll, though initial outlay will be $76 before profit starts being collected.

  1. Wait for Point to be established.
  2. When Point is established, bet $25 each on the 4 and 10 Place numbers and Buy the bets. Place $12 each on the 6 and 8 Place numbers.
  3. If the 4 or 10 hit, use the winnings to press the 6 and 8 to $24 each.
  4. If the 6 or 8 hit, before they are both at $24, use the winnings to press them both up one unit. Repeat this until both numbers are pressed to $24.
  5. Once established with the 6 and 8 placed for $24 each, and the 4 and 10 bought for $25 each, let the bets ride until a 7 out.

Get Even Take and Press

Works on any table minimum.

  1. Wait for Point to be established.
  2. Place minimum bets across all Place Numbers except for the Point number.
  3. If 6 or 8 is the Point, cover that number and choose to leave the 5 or 9 unplaced.
  4. Take down the first two hits on the Place Bets.
  5. Replenish the Place bets from the next two hits until you are covered across again.
  6. Once covered, start to collect and press on the individual bets. Collect the winnings the first time a number hits, press it the second time it hits, then alternate from there on out.

Low Risk $75 Don't Come

Works on any table minimum, but $10 is the basis for this strategy.

  1. Start with $10 Pass Line bet.
  2. When Point is established, bet $75 on the Don't Come.
  3. When Don't Come, or DC, is established, put down $30 in Pass Line Odds, Place $44 across on the rest of the available Place Numbers, and put $10 in the Come.
  4. If a Place Number hits, the Come moves to that number. Use the Place winnings to add $20 in Odds to the Come Bet and rack up the rest. Make another $10 Come Bet. Repeat this until Point is hit or a 7 Out.
  5. If the DC hits, make another $75 DC bet, but turn all Place Bets off and remove Pass Line Odds until another DC number is established. If there are Come Bets, take down all their Odds until DC is established.

Marching Soldiers

This strategy can mostly function as a side bet, and can be taken down at any point in the process since it deals with moving Place Bets, which are not contract bets. This works with any table minimum, will demonstrate with $5 minimum; total investment per shooter is $7.

  1. Make a $5 or 1 unit bet on either the Place 4 or 10. Have them working on the Come Out roll, or otherwise make the bet when you can do so after arriving at the table.
  2. The whole point of the strategy is to use the winnings to power press the bet and shift it to the next number, pressing and moving until the bet makes it all the way across the Point numbers; if starting at 4, each hit will move the bet to the next number heading towards the 10. If starting at 10, each hit will move the bet towards the 4.
  3. Starting from the 4, if the 4 hits, you'll win $9. Give the dealer $1 and move your bet plus the winnings to the 5 to make a $15 bet.
  4. If the 5 hits, you'll win $21. Move your bet to the 6 and add the winnings to make a $36 Place 6 bet.
  5. If the 6 hits, you'll win $42. Move the bet to the Place 8 and add the winnings so you have a $78 Place 8 bet.
  6. If the 8 hits, you'll win $91. Once again, shift the bet over to the 9 and add the winnings. Give the dealer another $1 chip to make the bet $170 on the Place 9.
  7. If the 9 hits, you'll win $238. If you've made it this far, move the bet over to the 10 and add the winnings. To make things easier for the dealers, collect $8 from the winnings and you'll be left with a $400 Place 10 bet.
  8. Once the 10 hits at this point, collect and take everything down. Starting from a $7 investment ($5 on the 4, $1 for the first bet on the 5, and $1 for the bet on the 9), you'll end up with $1200. Again, at any point in this process, feel free to take down the bet to collect that money.

Negative Nellie

Start with $500 bankroll. A good plan for playing against the House when the table is cold or running into a lot of Point 7s.

  1. Make a $30 Don't Pass bet before the Come Out roll.
  2. Once Point has been established, Place $66 inside, so $15 each on the 5 and 9, $18 each on the 6 and 8.
  3. If an inside number hits, regress all inside numbers down to 2 units each, so $10 each on the 5 and 9, $12 each on the 6 and 8. Collect the winnings, and use the $22 coming off of the inside numbers to place a $22 Don't Come bet.
  4. If inside numbers hit again, regress all numbers down to 1 unit each; $5 each on the 5 and 9, $6 each on the 6 and 8. Collect the winnings, and again use the bets being taken off of the Place bets to put down a $22 Don't Come bet.
  5. If inside numbers hit a third time, take down all the Place bets, collect winnings, and make one more $22 Don't Come bet.
  6. Let the bets ride out through the roll and hope for a 7. Repeat after a 7 out. If the Point hits, make another $30 Don't Pass bet on the Coe Out, but let Don't Come bets ride until they are either hit and cleared or another 7 out.

Collect and Press 6 and 8

$5 table minimum

  1. Start with $5 Pass Line bet. If 7 or 11 rolls, stack the winnings. If Pass Line wins again, stack up to $15 and pull out your initial $5 investment.
  2. When Point is established, place minimum bets on the 6 and 8 along with the Field. If 6 or 8 is the Point, move that bet to the 5.
  3. If Field Bet hits, immediately move winnings and initial bet up to Place numbers and Place from the center out. Cover the 5 and 9 first, then the 4 and 10. Do not Place the Point number.
  4. If 6 or 8 hits, immediately press that Place Bet and replenish the bet in the Field.
  5. Once Field Bet has moved up to the Place Bets, use the next Place Bet hits to cover the rest of the Place numbers.
  6. Once Place is covered, treat each bet as individual bets; collect the first hit, press the bet on the second hit, and so on.
  7. If the 4 or 10 rolls, immediately use the winnings to bump the Place bet up to $25 and Buy the number.
  8. If Point is hit, stack the winnings just as mentioned in the first step. Once Pass Line bet starts to move up past the $25 or $30 range, start hedging with $5 Any Craps bet.

The 6 8 Funnel Press

Works best on a $10 minimum table. Suggested bankroll of $640.

  1. Wait for Point to be established.
  2. Bet 2 units across all of the Place numbers, including the point. $64 Across, so $10 each on the 4, 5, 9, and 10, and $12 each on the 6 and 8.
  3. Every time the 4, 5, 9, or 10 hits, use the winnings to press the 6 and 8 up 1 unit each. For example, a $10 Place 5 will win $14 when it hits. Use $12 out of the winnings to press the 6 and 8 up $6 each.
  4. Every time the 6 and 8 hit, collect the winnings.
  5. Play by ear once initial $64 outlay has been recouped, otherwise continue following strategy until a 7 Out, then start back at the beginning with $64 Across.

$86 Across

$600 bankroll for a $5-$10 table.

  1. Wait for a point or start out with $86 across; $10 each on the 4 and 10, and $66 inside.
  2. Make a $1 Any Craps bet with each roll. Alternatively, cover the C & E or go $3 Craps and $2 Eleven.
  3. Collect the first 3 hits, then regress bets to a level below the profits you've made. If you hit 3 Place numbers while making $1 Crap check bets every hit, you'll have a profit of $60. Regress bets down to $22 Inside and play on from there.
  4. Let bets ride and collect hits, then press up as you see fit. Recommend moving into double-tap or triple-lux press system after collecting one or two hits from $22 Inside.

Iron Cross

$500 bankroll for a $5 table; adjust as necessary for any table minimum.

  1. Bet 1 unit on the Pass Line. When Point is established, back it up with 2x in Odds.
  2. After establishing a Point, place 2 units each on the 5, 6, and 8 and bet 1 unit in the Field. Don't place the 5, 6, or 8 if they come out as the Point.
  3. If 5, 6, or 8 hit, replenish the Field bet.
  4. Let bets ride until you get 4 hits total. After 4 hits, remove the Field bet and take the Place bets down to 1 unit each. Let those ride or switch to a Collect and Press method until Point is hit or a 7 out.

Iron Crapper

$5 minimum, but adapt for any other minimum.

  1. Start with a $42 Don't Pass bet.
  2. Once Point is established, bet minimum bets on all Place numbers, with 2 units on the Point number. Put 1 unit in the Field.
  3. Let everything ride and replenish Field bet if it gets knocked out.

Sharpshooter Inside Take and Press

$5 minimum table

  1. Make a minimum Pass Line bet.
  2. When Point is established, 2x Pass Line Odds. Place 1 unit on all inside numbers; do not Place the Point. 1 unit bet on the Hard 4 and Hard 10.
  3. Once set up, collect the first hit on any number, then press when it hits again, repeat until bets are colored up to $25 or $30, then let them ride from there.
  4. If Hard 4 or 10 hits, press both bets up to 2 units each and collect the rest of the winnings. If they hit again, press both bets up to $25 each and collect the rest.

Big Bucks

There are a few variants to this strategy, but the original version calls for a $15,000 bankroll with a $3000 outlay. This can be modified into the same strategy using an $800 bankroll for a $160 initial outlay.

  1. Wait for a Point to be established. Give the shooter a 1-count, or let them roll the dice one more time after the Point has been established before laying out your bets.
  2. Place $3000 across all the Place numbers, so $500 bets on every number.
  3. If a Place number hits, collect the winnings and immediately take all the bets down and wait for the next shooter. If Any number other than the Place Bets rolls, immediately take down your bets and wait for the next shooter.

$25 Table Variation:

Vince Armenti Craps Strategy Game

  1. Follow steps above, but Place $160 Across the Place numbers rather than $3000. $25 each on the 4, 5, 9, and 10, $30 each on the 6 and 8.
  2. If any of the Place numbers hit, regress down to just having the 6 and 8 placed and take all other bets down.
  3. One more hit on the 6 and 8 will lock in your profits, so from there start collecting, pressing, and spreading out to other numbers as you see fit. This is good if you want to stay up on your bets for the shooter rather than just sitting and waiting.

Bubble Craps

$5 minimum, $500 bankroll, Best if played on a Bubble Craps machine.

  1. Start with a $50 Don't Pass bet. Bet $12 Any 7 or $9 Hopping the 7s.

    • Point 6: 2 units on 5 and 8 each; 1 unit on 4, 6, 9, 10, Field, Hard 6
    • Point 8: 2 units on 5 and 6 each; 1 unit on 4, 8, 9, 10, Field, Hard 8
    • Point 9: 2 units each on 5, 6, and 8; 1 unit each on 4, 10, Field.
    • Point 10: 2 units each on 5, 6, and 8; 1 unit each on 4, 9, Field, Hard 10

Color Shifter

  1. Start with a $10 Pass Line bet.
  2. Once Point is established, place $54 across, or $52 if the Point is 6 or 8.
  3. When a Place number hits, do a full press to change it's color from red chips to green. Press the 4, 5, 9, or 10 to $25 on the first hit, press the 6 or 8 to $30.
  4. Go for three total hits on the Place numbers. Do a full press with each hit. Bet progression:
    • 4 and 10: $10 - $25 - $50
    • 5 and 9: $10 - $25 - $60
    • 6 and 8: $12 - $30 - $66
  5. After Place bets hit a third time, no matter what stage the bet progression is at, go for one more roll. No matter what hits, regress all bets back down to $52 or $54 across. Repeat strategy.
  6. Bonus: If any Horn numbers hit (2, 3, 11, 12), immediately make a $10 Field bet. This is optional, only play it for fun and if feeling lucky.

Coming Continuously

Armenti

  2. If the Horn Bet wins, press it up a full unit to $16. Continue pressing bet up $4 each time the Come Out Horn bet wins, regress back to $12 bet if it loses on the Come Out roll. Replace Pass Line bet if it loses.
  3. Once Point has been established, bet 2x Pass Line Odds. Bet $5 or one unit on the Come.
  4. When Come bet point is rolled, place 2x Odds for each Come Bet. After Come Bet moves to a number, make another 1 unit Come bet.
  5. Continuously replenish 1 unit Come Bet and place 2x Odds on each Come number until 7 out or Point is hit.
  6. Only bet the Horn on the come Out roll.

Dark Side Hedge

$500 bankroll for a $15 table.

  1. Make a $15 Don't Pass Bet. Lay $40 each on the 4 and 10. Bet $1 each on the Yo Eleven and Boxcars prop bets.
    • If 12/Boxcars hits, press bet to $25 for a roll.
    • If 4 or 10 hits, replace $40 Lay.
  2. When point is established, Lay enough odds to win $25 if the 7 rolls.
    • For 6 and 8, lay $30 Don't Pass Odds.
    • For 5 and 9, Lay $45 in Don't Pass Odds.
  3. If 4 or 10 hits after Point is established, replace $40 Lay. Let bets ride until 7 out, then start system over again.

Dave's Method

Start off with $500 bankroll.

  1. Start off with a $10 Don't Pass bet.
  2. When Point is established, set the following Odds:
    • 4 and 10 - do not bet Odds.
    • 5 or 9 - bet $75 Odds.
    • 6 or 8 - bet $60 for Odds.
    • If you've lost $1000, start setting $180 Odds for 6 or 8; $150 Odds for the 5 or 9; don't place Odds for the 4 or 10.
  3. Make a $10 Don't Come bet. When the DC is set, add the odds as mentioned above to the DC bet.
  4. If 2 points are lost, take down all Odds and wait for shooter to 7 out before restarting system.
  5. If you end up making $200 in profit, cash out for the day!

Pathfinder

System for following the path of the dice. $35 per shooter, so bankroll of at least $350 for a $5 table. System does not rely on the Point, and can be working or Off on the Come Out roll.

  1. Bet $32 across; $5 each on the 4, 5, 9. 10, and $6 each on the 6 and 8.
  2. On the first hit of a Place number, take down that place number and spread that bet plus the winnings out to the remaining numbers, adding a few dollars from your rack if needed. For example:
    • If the 8 hits, you win $7. Take down the Place 8 bet and put it on the 6 to make it $12, then add $3 from your rack to the $7 winnings to make $10, then spread that to the 5 and 9 to make them $10 each.
    • If the 9 hits, you win $7. Taking down the initial $5 Place 9 bet and adding it to the winnings gives you $12, which you can use to bump up the 6 and 8 Place bets to $12 each.
    • If the 10 hits, you win $9. Take down the bet and add $1 from your rack to end up with $15 total to spread out to the other numbers. Bump the 4, 5, and 9 up to $10 each with the winnings.
  3. When a second number hits, take that Place bet down, add the winnings, and spread it out to the other remaining numbers as you see fit.
    • If the $12 Place 6 hits, you win $14. Take down the 6 and use the winnings and the bet to bump the 5 and 9 up $10 each and collect the rest.
    • If the $10 Place 5 hits, you win $14. Take down the 5, add the winnings, and bump the 6 and 8 up $12 each if they are still up, or spread the money out to the remaining numbers evenly and collect the rest.
    • If the $10 Place 4 hits, take it down and add it to the $18 winnings. Spread the $28 across the remaining numbers and collect the change.
  4. After taking down a total of 3 Place numbers and spreading the bets plus the winnings arounf to the remaining numbers, one more hit will pay for the initial bet outlay, so collect the hit. Feel free to press and spread back out to all the Place numbers as you see fit.

Power Craps

$10 table minimum

  1. Start with 1 unit on the Pass Line.
  2. Once Point is established, Place the 6 and 8 for $18 each. Set down 1x in Pass Line Odds.
  3. If the 6 or 8 hit, press bet up 50%.
  4. If Point hits, the next time a Point is established, increase Pass Line Odds by 50%.

The Nolly Inside

$500 bankroll, $5 table. Best if you are not the shooter for easier money management.

  1. Start with $44 inside working on the Come Out. Lay $100 on the 4. Only have the bets working if you have a Lay on the 4, otherwise have them off.
  2. On the first hit on the inside numbers, go to $22 inside and go down to $50 on the lay 4.
  3. After hitting the inside numbers a second time, take down the Lay 4 bey, but keep the $22 inside the same.
  4. Start double-tapping anything that hits from then on, since initial outlay has been paid for. If 6 or 8 hit, drop the dealer $5 and press it to $18. If 5 or 9 hit, press them to $15. When they hit again, collect the winnings, and then continue to press as you like.

The Nolly Across Variant

The Nolly Across is where you add the 10 into the initial outlay. $100 Lay on the 4 with $54 across the rest of the numbers.

  1. On the first hit, take the lay down to $50 and take all other bets down to $27 across.
  2. Collect the second and third hits on the Place numbers, then take down the Lay 4 bet.
  3. Start triple-luxing from there:
    • Press the 6 or 8 up to $18 when they hit, then press them to $42 when they hit again. Collect the third hit. Power press from there on out.
    • Press the 5 and 9 up to $15 on their first hit, then press to $36 on their second hit. Collect the third hit. Power press up from there after that.
    • Press the 10 up to $15 on the first hit, then press it up to $40 on the second hit and Buy the 10. Collect the third hit, then power press from there. Feel free to take the winnings and spread out to the 4 and do the same triple-lux system.

Panda Degenerate

Can play on any table minimum, but best to start out with $1200 bankroll or higher.

  1. Start by betting $10 on the Pass Line and $25 on the Don't Pass Line. Ignore the odd looks from the dealers.
  2. When Point is established, lay $150 in Odds behind the Don't Pass bet. Place all numbers except for the Point for $25 each, $30 for the 6 and 8.
  3. When Place number hits, immediately take all Place Bets down to 1 unit each. Take down the Don't Pass bet and the Don't Pass Odds. Place 2x odds bet behind the Pass Line bet.
  4. Start double-tapping the Place Bets. All Place bets should start at $10 each, $12 for the 6 and 8. As soon as a Place number hits, immediately take that place number up to $25, or $30 if it's the 6 or 8. If that number hits again, collect the winnings and take the bet back down to the minimum. Increase Pass Line Odds with each win, eventually maxing out the odds.
  5. After double-tapping the place bets and winning at least twice, start triple-luxing the bets; after hitting a number, immediately power press the winnings onto the place bet. Repeat the power press a third time after hitting the number again, then collect the winnings if it hits again, then regress the bet back down to 1 unit.
  6. For the 5 and 9, a $10 bet wins $14, press bet to $25. A $25 bet wins $35, press the bet up to 60. $60 wins $84, then press up to $100 and collect the rest. Once that number hits, collect everything and bring it down to $10.
  7. For the 6 and 8, $12 wins $14, power press up to $30. $30 wins $35, power press up to $60. $60 wins $70, power press up to $130. Collect that and bring it back down to $12.
  8. For the 4 and 10, a $10 bet wins $18, power press and buy the bet for $25. $25 wins $49 after the vig, power press up to $75. $75 wins $150 minus the vig, then regress down to $10,
  9. If on a hot roll, go for the jugular and don't take down the power-pressed bets when they hit after the triple-luix. Collect winnings each time you press up enough to color up to a new chip color, then continue to press and collect until you can get the bet to the table maximum.

Pandemic Special

Meant for $15 minimum tables, which are becoming prevalent now during the Pandemic. Can potentially work with a $300 minimum bankroll.

  1. Wait for point to be established.
  2. Place $15 on the 5 and $18 each on the 6 and 8 after Point is established.
  3. After one hit on the 5, 6, or 8, press all numbers up 1 unit, so a $20 5, and a $24 6 and 8.
  4. After one more hit on the 5, 6, or 8, start betting $15 on the Field for every roll and let all bets ride until a 7 out.
  5. You can start pressing or spreading out to the other Place numbers after 5 or 6 hits to ensure that your initial outlay has been paid for.

The Pass Over Method

Initial outlay of $110 with a $1000 bankroll, but can be scaled to work with any bankroll amount. Leave bets Off on Come Out roll.

  1. Wait for a Point to be established. Feel free to play the All Tall Small for $5 if desired.
  2. Once point is established, place $110 inside; $25 each on the 5 and 9, $30 each on the 6 and 8.
  3. When any of the inside numbers hits, use the winnings and power press the adjacent place number; for example, a $30 Place 6 would win $35, so that would be used to press the 8 up to $66 adding $1 from your bankroll. Hitting the 8 would press the 9, hitting the 9 would press the 5, the 5 presses the 6, and so forth.
  4. Go for 3 hits. No matter where the bets are after 3 hits, collect on the 4th hit and then take everything down to $110 inside. Repeat this progression until a 7 out.
  5. Progression units:
    • 5 and 9: $25 - $60 - $86 - $120
    • 6 and 8: $30 - $66 - $90 - $210

Power Press

$5 minimum, $500 bankroll.

  1. Wait for a point to be established.
  2. Once Point is established, Place $5 each on the 4 and 10, $10 each on the 5 and 9, $30 each on the 6 and 8. Bet $1 on all the Hard Ways.
  3. If the 6 or 8 hits, immediately regress Place Bets down to $6 each on both numbers. If the 5 or 9 hit, immediately regress down to $5 each on both numbers.
  4. If any Hard Ways hit, collect winnings and bump all hard Ways bets up $1. Keep up on all hard Ways and replenish them when they lose, keep bumping them all up when they hit and keep doing so until a 7 Out.
  5. Once the 5, 6, 8, and 9 have been regressed, start power pressing. When any of them hit, immediately do a full press on the Place Bet. Start power pressing the 4 and 10 as well.
  6. Once a Place Bet is up to a green, or $25/$30, start collecting and pressing. Collect on one hit, then full press on another hit. Maintain this or regress back to table minimums as you like.

Field Martingale

  3. On the Come Out roll, if the 7 or 11 hits, replace all of the bets but stack the Pass Line winnings. If a Point is established and then wins, collect the Pass Line winnings and go back to a 1 unit Pass Line bet for the next Come Out roll.

    • If the 5 or 9 hit, press them both up to $60 each.

If you lose the first bet of $4 then you would add a four to the end of the sequence of numbers, which would now be 1-2-3-4. The next bet would therefore be $5 (1+4). If that won then you’d remove the one and the four.

Left with 2-3, the stake for the next wager would also be $5 (2+3). Let’s say the next wager loses. A five now needs to be added to the sequence.

The required stake is now $7. If you win the next wager, the two and the five need to be crossed off.

The required stake is now $3. Winning that means the cycle is over. The losing bets total $9 ($4 + $5), and the winning bets total $15 ($5 + $7 + $3). That’s a total win of $6, which again is equal to the sum of numbers in the original sequence.

  • Bet $4 (1+3), lose. Add 4 to the end, giving 1-2-3-4
  • Bet $5 (1+4), lose. Add 5 to the end, giving 1-2-3-4-5
  • Bet $6 (1+5), win. Remove 1 and 5, giving 2-3-4
  • Bet $6 (2+4), lose. Add 6 to the end, giving 2-3-4-6
  • Bet $8 (2+6), lose. Add 8 to the end, giving 2-3-4-6-8
  • Bet $10 (2+8), win. Remove 2 and 8, giving 3-4-6
  • Bet $9 (3+6), win. Remove 3 and 6, giving 4
  • Bet $4, lose. Add 4 to the end, giving 4-4
  • Bet $8 (4+4), win. Remove 4 and 4, finishing the chain.

In this cycle you would have lost five bets and won four. The total losses would be $27 and the total wins $33. The overall profit would still be $6, despite having more losing wagers than winning wagers.

This is essentially the main concept of the Labouchere. No matter how long the chain, by eventually removing all the numbers you will make a profit equal to the total value of the original sequence of numbers. In theory, this can be achieved by winning a smaller number of bets than you lose, as the winning bets will be at higher stakes than the losing bets.

As you can see, this system is more complicated than some of the simpler alternatives. However, once you get used to the rules it’s not that difficult to understand.

One of the positive aspects of this system is its flexibility. Because you can adjust the initial betting sequence, you can adjust your levels of risk and reward somewhat. For example, if you start with a longer sequence of higher numbers then you can make a much larger profit if you manage to finish the chain.

The problem with doing this, though, is that the size of your bets will increase much faster if you have a few losses. However, you can use sequences that include a number of zeros. This makes the system a lot safer.

Does the Labouchere System Work?

Because the Labouchere can return a profit through winning less bets than you lose, there are those who believe it works. Indeed, you can make money using this system if you manage to avoid going on a lengthy losing streak. The problem is that there is never any guarantee that you won’t go on a lengthy losing streak. In fact it’s quite likely that you will if you play often enough or for long enough.

By increasing your stakes after every loss, a losing streak can result in the required stake getting too high. You may not have sufficient funds, and even with a huge bankroll there are betting limits to consider. Basically, one way or another there will come a time when you cannot make a bet at the required stake. Reaching this point will almost certainly cost any profits you have ever made previously with the system, and possibly a great deal more too.

The reason some people are tempted by the Labouchere, or any negative progression for that matter, is because they simply don’t think that they will ever lose enough bets in a row to cause a problem. For example, they assume that if they see a red number a few consecutive times at the roulette table then it has to be black soon.

This is not true though. The roulette wheel has no memory and, even it has been red 20 times in a row, the chances of the next number being red are always exactly the same as it being black. The mistaken belief that a black number becomes more likely after several red numbers are spun in a row is known as gambler’s fallacy. This fallacy has led to many gamblers losing substantial sums of money, and you really don’t want to do the same.

The Labouchere is ultimately not a great system. Although you can lose more bets than you win and still make a profit, there is too great a chance that you will eventually lose substantially because of a long losing streak. You might get lucky using it a few times, or even for a prolonged period of time. The likelihood, though, is that you will eventually end up out of money.

While we don’t particularly recommend that you use the Labouchere, we do understand why it might be tempting. If you’re prepared to accept the risks and have the discipline to ensure that you stop playing when the bets get too high then you can have some fun with it. You may well have a few winning sessions, and you’ll just have to hope that your losing sessions are not too bad.
